Wallpaper is a convenient way to remodel your home by adding a splash of color or pattern to your walls without having to paint. You can add wallpaper to an entire room, put up a statement accent wall, or even cover your entire home in fresh style. Measuring wallpaper for your rooms can seem daunting, but it doesn't have to be.
In this simple guide we explain step by step how to measure your walls to order the exact amount of wallpaper without complications.
1. Measure the height and width of your wall.
A metal tape measure will help you keep accurate numbers. Write them down as you go. Repeat this step for each wall you want to wallpaper.
2. Discard the area of doors, windows and other openings that you DO NOT want to wallpaper.
Anything you are NOT going to wallpaper can be removed from the area. Doors, windows and closets are some examples of wall accessories that do not need to be wallpapered. You can measure the entire width and height of the surrounding walls and specify with a small drawing where these doors, windows or closets are that you are not going to wallpaper.
We show you a small example:
Note how the dashed line delimits the width of the top section and the bottom section of the window, meaning that both sections plus the window have the same width. In this case, the window serves as a reference for the width.
This type of exercise is good to take into account when choosing a patterned or geometric wallpaper design.
If it is a landscape design, for example, do not hesitate to write to us and show us your drawing so we can customize the design with your measurements at an optimal and professional level, thus avoiding confusion and errors.
3. Multiply the width and height of each wall.
Finally, just multiply the width and height of each wall, so that you have a reference in square meters (m2) of the amount of paper you are going to buy.
AND READY!
To buy, just enter the width and height of the design you want, without any problem.
